2012 Rookie Draft

The 2012 four round Prospect Draft in our Franchise League is over and 13 picks were made the first day. The owners kept a spirited pace and we finished the entire draft in one weekend. Starting pitcher Yu Darvish was the clear #1 selection, and Casey wasted no time making the Rangers’ prize acquisition the top fantasy pick. Four catchers were selected by the end of round two, foreshadowing an exciting generation of future backstops. When the dust settled the farm system consisted of 21 pitchers and 27 hitters to start the season. Players can be taxied to and from the minors during the year, as each owner sees fit.

Comments

  1. So just off my calculations (adding the number of rank of prospect together to see who had the lowest score) here are the farm systems based from top to worst. For those players who didn’t have a rank I gave them a 102.

    1. Springfield Homers – 66
    2. (tie) Game Blouses – 72
    2. (tie) Time Travelers – 72
    4. Fireballers – 75
    5. Rum Ham – 91
    6. Storm County Thunder – 92
    7. Chatham A’s – 103
    8. Sicilian Bigboys – 107
    9. Bad News Bears – 127
    10. Duh Winning – 183
    11. Dream Team – 203
    12. Damascus Medias Rojas – 288

Not like this means anything but I thought it was interesting!

    • That’s an interesting list. However I think after the top 10 it gets really hard to predict where these guys fall. Anyone in the top 100 could be a good fantasy contributor.
